We asked our handicappers for their Belmont Stakes selections, and it’s fair to say they were conflicted.
To our group, the Belmont boils down to a simple question: California Chrome, or Wicked Strong?
Four of the eight ‘cappers chose Wicked Strong, while three picked Chrome (and one poor soul went with Samraat). Three of the four who picked Wicked Strong slotted Chrome in the place position, and the other put him in the show slot. Those who went with Chrome, on the other hand, were more conflicted about Wicked Strong; one left him off the ticket altogether, while the others had him second and third.
