The first Sunday of the Saratoga meet sees two stakes, one a Grade 1, and two more Midlantic-breds:
In the Lucky Coin Stakes, a 5 1/2 furlong turf test, Virginia-bred Go Blue Or Go Home is 6-1 in the morning line. The five year-old son of Bluegrass Cat was bred by Morgan’s Ford Farm and Winstar Farm LLC. He’s won five of 14 starts and earned over $365,000. Trained by Reade Baker for Jim and Susan Hill, he’s won two stakes, one a Grade 3, and placed in four others.
Later, in the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks, another Virginia-bred, Miss Besilu, is also 6-1. The three year-old daughter of Medaglia d’Oro was bred by the estate of Edward P. Evans and is trained by Bill Mott for owner Besilu Stables. She’s won two of seven career starts and placed second in the Ginger Brew Stakes. She’s the fourth choice in the prestigious 1 1/8 mile event.
