From a Fasig-Tipton release
Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 490 entries for its 2015 Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, to be conducted at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. The sale will be held on Monday and Tuesday, May 18 and 19, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
“Our Midlantic Two-Year-Olds Sale has had positive momentum for the last several years, which has resulted in another large catalog in 2015,” said Midlantic sales director Paget Bennett. “Prospective buyers will find quality horses for all budgets, as well as increased sire power in this year’s catalog.”
“On top of that, our recent sale graduates are among the brightest stars in the sport today, furthering the sale’s reputation as an excellent source of top horses.”
This year’s catalogue cover features the sale’s three latest grade 1 winning stars in BAYERN, DORTMUND and MATERIALITY. BAYERN, a graduate of the 2013 sale, won the 2014 G1 Breeders’ Cup Classic and G1 Haskell Stakes. Undefeated three-year-old colts DORTMUND and MATERIALITY, winners of this year’s G1 Santa Anita Derby and G1 Florida Derby, respectively, are leading Kentucky Derby candidates. They are both graduates of last year’s sale.
The under tack show will be held in two sessions, on Wednesday and Thursday, May 13 and 14, with both sessions beginning at 8:00 a.m. The 140th Preakness will be held at nearby Pimlico on Saturday, May 16, and the sale will follow on May 18 and 19.
The catalog may now be viewed online and via the equineline sales catalog app. Print catalogs will be available by Monday, April 20.
490 hips catalogued, 129 outs already, with 106 of those outs withdrawn BEFORE the under tack show. Can someone please tell me why this development – and its cause – is not being addressed by a journalist?
