The Racing Biz has today released In Focus: Pimlico Race Course Stakes April 18, a guide to Saturday’s six stakes at Old Hilltop.
It is the latest in a series of In Focus guides to Maryland’s stakes; this month, it is joined by a similar guide to the late Pick 4 at Charles Town, Playing the $100,000 Pick Four.
“We have found that many players and fans value the insights and handicapping found in our In Focus guides,” said Frank Vespe, publisher of The Racing Biz. “We’re glad to work with our friends at Pimlico to make this information available.”
A version of In Focus will be available during Saturday’s Decanter Wine Festival at Pimlico.
Handicappers on this effort include, in addition to Vespe, former Colonial Downs on-air handicapper Derby Bill Watson; Bobby Zen, author of several handicapping books; and racing journalist Ted Black.
In addition to top-three selections on all six Pimlico stakes, the guide includes race history, recent trends, and virtually horse-by-horse analysis of each race. The card includes the last local preps for the Grade 1 Preakness (the Federico Tesio Stakes), the Grade 2 Dixie (Henry S. Clark Stakes), and the Grade 3 Gallorette (Dahlia Stakes), as well as the Geisha, for Maryland-bred fillies and mares; the Stormy Blues for three-year-old fillies; and the Primonetta, for filly and mare sprinters.
