Gabby Gaudet’s got some thoughts on a live longshot and a Pick 6 play.
KEY RACE VIDEO
In our key race video, Maryland Jockey Club analyst Gabby Gaudet focuses on Easter Service 8-1 morning line), the #6 horse in today’s seventh race.
RACE 5 NOTES
- Conditions: Fillies and mares, 3yo and up, starter handicap for horses that have started for $5,000 or less in 2014-15
- Distance/surface: 1 1/16 miles, turf
- Notably The top six from the first leg of this starter handicap series are back in this second leg. First leg winner Cluain Meala is the tepid 7-2 morning line favorite. She ran down U.K. Girl (also here, 5-1) in the late stages to win by a head in that April 11 tilt.
- Gabby’s longshot Easter Service was ultra-competitive with these types last season. In her seasonal debut, on April 17, she closed nicely but finished seventh, beaten less than three lengths — but that was at a five furlong distance at which she was outfooted. She gets added ground today and the right to move forward in her second start.
