Gabby Gaudet’s got some thoughts on late Pick 4 play.
Laurel Park has several carryovers today, but Maryland racing analyst Gabby Gaudet goes in a different direction.
She shares her thoughts on the late Pick 3. The sequence includes a starter allowance sprint, a lifetime claiming sprint on the turf, and a maiden special weight sprint on the turf.

GABBY’S RACING NOTES
[su_list icon=”icon: check”].- Race 6 — This is just a wide-open event in which virtually any of the runners could find the wire first. In fact, the longest shot on the board, #1 Dixie Deputy, defeated similar three back at Delaware Park.
- Race 7 — I’ve covered three in this event, and the one I like best of all is #4 Sassafras Springs. This runner will be making her first start off the claim for new Hall of Famer King Leatherbury, which has been a positive angle in recent years, and he wheels the filly back at the same level he took her from. In her last race, she encountered plenty of trouble — a slow break, steadied, having to pick through horses — but still finished third, and that race has produced two next-out winners, including the winner, Synergist.
- Race 8 — #4 Cowgirl Creed has run two terrific races in a row, finishing second a length and third by three-quarters. Sunnysammi, who beat her two back, returned just yesterday to win an allowance, and the place horse yesterday was Top Sheet, who beat her last out. This is a good enough field that Cowgirl Creed is still 7-2 in the morning line, but I think a repeat of her recent races would make her the winner here.
