From a Laurel Park release
There will be Super Hi 5 and Rainbow 6 carryovers at Laurel Park when racing resumes Saturday.
Friday’s program at Laurel was the first to have rolling Super Hi 5’s. Despite sloppy conditions and races taken off the turf, the rolling Super Hi 5’s produced interest with bettors and some generous payoffs.
A carryover of $1,220 from the fifth race produced a $9,043 payoff in the sixth race. A $1,150 carryover in the second race produced a payoff in the third race of $5,789.
Saturday’s first race will have a Super Hi 5 carryover of $5,090.
“Despite our track conditions today, the public seemed to like the new wager and it gained momentum with the carryovers” said Maryland Jockey Club President and GM Sal Sinatra. “We’re happy with the results today. I think when the weather gets better, we’ll see even more interest in the wager.”
Saturday will also have a Rainbow 6 carryover of $5,941.46.
