Cheryl McIntyre of Massillon, Ohio earned a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge as well as $6,050 by finishing in first place Saturday in the Champions Handicapping Tournament at Laurel Park.
William Wirth finished second and earned $4,420 as well as a berth to The Big One while Shawn Turner earned a berth in the National Handicapping Challenge and $2,210. Gwyn Houston also earned a berth in the National Handicapping Challenge. Others earnings prize money were Adam Crickman, Todd Stark, Pete Manzo, William Shook, John Mitso and Jason Phillips.
There were 271 entries in Saturday’s Champions Handicapping Tournament and 193 players.
