Podcast: Derby Bill ‘caps the Del ‘Cap
The Grade 1 Delaware Handicap is always one of the highlights of the summer racing season, and Saturday’s 79th renewal of the 1 1/4 mile fixture figures to be no exception.
Listen in as former Colonial Downs on-air handicapper Derby Bill Watson gives you the inside scoop on Delaware Park’s biggest race.
What’s more, he tackles not just the Del ‘Cap but also the entire five-race sequence of races seven through 11, so you can construct multi-race wagers to turn Saturday into a big money maker!
That five-race sequence includes the Grade 3 Kent Stakes, a pair of $50,000 stakes (the Hockessin and the Carl Hanford Memorial), as well as an allowance contest. All told, it offers plenty of chances to make money!

Must admit during pod Derbybill was on 45th time Lasix and + 100lbs

with the best paddoct in the business and Rich Glazier said it will be only 95 in the shade Saturday
Your Show always has me double checking my late pc-4 selections. However, if there ever was a single in a multi-race wager it’s ” I’m a Chatterbox” in the Delaware Handicap. Yes, she will be a prohibitive favorite; but best take the 2-5 and invest your money on the other races in the pic-4. Just look at her races after her layoffs; they are eye popping. Can’t blame anyone for trying to beat the chalk but she looks too good against these to not single her. Again, love the Show.
Frank Vespe took the Del Cap day podcast handicapping to another level with his pick Bodhisattva in the Carl Hanford Memorial Stakes that paid $25.60 to win as the second longest shot on the board and topped a $121.80 triple. “I m A Chatterbox unbetable to the gambler used her sweeping the stewards into becoming race analist instead of stewards? But earned Jerry T a place on a future upcomming podcast as the veteran of hoirse radio and Maryland racing was 100% correct .. The Race 7 [$5]Race 8 [$3] Race 9 [$3.20]Race 10 $5.40 left all looking for toll money out of Delaware until Frank Vespe`s Race 11 $25.60 UPSET footed the bill for a Crabcake or 2 on a Chaulkfestival day in mid atlantic racing leaving most looking to Del Mar`s $16,374,236 handle….Congrads to Frank +Jerry but personaly that doesn`t replace BEN & Jerry`s yet on National Ice Cream day ……Can`t wait til TOGA !
Although I’m a fan of the “Chatterbox, she must have had too much Ben & Jerry’s because that BREAK was reminiscent of Bayern taking out the competition in the 2014 BC Classic. Paid Up Subscriber, like the hard luck Shared Belief in the Classic, were both victims.
