Blog: First Keeneland win for Trevor McCarthy

To you and me, it was just the sixth race on a Wednesday at Keeneland.
But to jockey Trevor McCarthy, it was more than that; it was his first win at Keeneland, one of America’s great racetracks. In the grassy, $62,000 allowance test for two-year-old fillies, McCarthy steered Party Boat to a two-length win as the 5-2 second choice in the field of eight.
Party Boat, who debuted at Laurel Park in July and broke her maiden, in her third start, at Monmouth Park in September, now has two wins and a second from four starts. The daughter of Into Mischief is trained by Graham Motion for Hope Jones.
In McCarthy’s own words, from Facebook:
No words could describe the feeling of this win today at Keeneland! I want to thank Graham Motion and the Herringswell Stables, Ltd for my first win at Keeneland! They have been so good to me I can’t thank them enough! Great job guys! Thank you so much! I also want to thank my agent Scott Silver for all his hard work and owner Hope Jones! Also we can’t forget who gave it her all Party Boat!
