TOBA open house to be held at Sagamore Farm
From a Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association release
The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association is hosting an Open House on Tuesday, May 16th at historic Sagamore Farm in Glyndon, Maryland.
The day-long event is being held during Preakness week to offer those in town for the second jewel of the Triple Crown an up close and personal view of the industry at one of the premier racing and breeding farms in Maryland.
The audience will get to speak with Sagamore Racing president Hunter Rankin and the farm veterinarian, watch their horses train on site, visit the foaling barn and see what the Maryland-bred racing program encompasses. Later in the day, attendees will be able to take an exclusive tour of the brand new Sagamore Spirit Distillery.
This inaugural Open House is a departure from the traditional TOBA Ownership Seminars.
“The majority of our TOBA clinics are held at tracks and sales grounds. The idea of sharing the owner and breeder experience with prospective owners in the bucolic setting of Sagamore Farm, allows a more relaxed learning experience for guests,” said Aly Kirchner, TOBA director of membership and marketing. “Topics to be covered are ownership, equine health, state incentives, sales and breeding, as well as legal and business issues.
“The history of Sagamore Farm is something anyone involved or follows the sport would admire. For such a place, during Preakness week, to open its doors to a TOBA group is an opportunity not to be missed,” she added.
“We look forward to hosting TOBA and providing a memorable experience for fellow Thoroughbred breeders and owners,” said Sagamore’s Rankin.
The 2017 seminar and clinic schedule and registration are available at www.toba.org. All attendees are offered the introductory rate of $90; all materials, meals and tickets are included. This event is limited in capacity, andadvanced registration is encouraged.
