Change coming to Santa Anita?

Stronach Group COO Tim Ritvo outlined a series of changes he says are necessary for racing to continue. Foremost among them, he said, is to build 1,000 new stalls on the backside.

Stellar Wind working towards Pegasus date

Virginia-bred Stellar Wind breezed five furlongs on January 7 as she prepares to be the first female runner in the Grade 1 Pegasus, to be run January 27 at Gulfstream Park. “We’re on target for the Pegasus,” trainer Chad Brown said.

Greyvitos on the mend after surgery

Two-time stake winner Greyvitos, who won the Springboard Mile at Remington Park after having survived the San Luis Rey fire, is on the mend after having surgery to remove a bone chip from his knee. Trainer Adam Kitchingman indicated that, despite the injury, the Kentucky Derby remains the goal for the Virginia-bred.
