Wincze-Hughes named NTRA communications director
From a National Thoroughbred Racing Association release
The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) today announced that it has hired Alicia Wincze-Hughes as Director of NTRA Communications. Hughes will officially start at the NTRA on January 2.
A winner of numerous national writing awards for her coverage of Thoroughbred racing, Hughes has spent the last two years as a staff writer and racing editor at BloodHorse.
“It has been an honor over the years to work alongside some of the best writers and editors in this business while telling racing’s wonderfully unique stories,” Hughes said. “I am beyond thrilled to begin the next chapter of my career with the dedicated people of the NTRA and help bring their important work to the forefront.”
Prior to joining BloodHorse, Hughes spent 11 years with the Lexington Herald-Leader, including eight years as the horse racing beat writer. She is an immediate past-president of the National Turf Writers and Broadcasters Association.
“Alicia is an extremely gifted writer and communicator and we are delighted to welcome her to the team,” NTRA President and CEO Alex Waldrop said.
