Delaware Park 2019 horses to watch: August 31

Delaware Park has an eight-race card lined up for Saturday, August 31, and the finale is for Arabians. Some horses to watch:
Race 3 — Claiming
- Fillies and mares three and up that have never won two races will go six furlongs at the $25,000 claiming level.
- Two races back, #1 Funtasia (12-1) broke her maiden against maiden special weight foes here at Delaware, dueling for the lead and then drawing away. Her follow-up, in allowance company, was not good, but it was going a mile and over a muddy, sealed racing strip she may not have relished. She gets back onto a fast track today, shortens back up to a sprint distance, and breaking from the rail might allow her to flaunt her early lick.
- Selections: 1-6-2-3
Race 5 — Maiden claiming
- Maidens three-years-old and up will go five furlongs on the turf at the $15,000 claiming level.
- Curious to see the career debut of #2 Winston’s Way (8-1) for trainer Aimee Hall. The Street Magician colt a number of half-mile and five-furlong breezes under his belt in preparation, and some of them aren’t bad, particularly given the level at which he’s competing. None of his sibs have won on the lawn, but the Street Magicians generally have run well on the lawn, and this colt is out of a Stormy Atlantic mare, so there’s good reason to think he’ll take to turf. Hall does well enough with first-timers and has attracted top local rider Carol Cedeno to ride.
- Selections: 9-2-3-6
