How’d we do last time at Parx?

RACE NUMBERCONTENDERSCOMMENTS
Race 13-1-2-5Top choice #3 Speightster Red (4-1) has run into a pair of tough groups in his first two tries at Laurel Park. Jaxon Traveler, winner in this one’s debut, is two-for-two by a combined 14 lengths, and Lugamo, who took this one’s most recent try, returned to win an allowance before running third in a stake. The Bailes trainee gets Lasix on today… Curious to see #1 Saafen (5-1). He’s a son of Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Tamarkuz out of an unraced Medaglia d’Oro mare whose dam was a Grade 3 winner. Trainer Mike Pino is 4-for-21 with two-year-olds making their career bow… #2 Garban (3-1) ran a good one last out to be second while well clear of the rest… #5 Stimulus Maker (6-1) is a half to two horses who won at first asking, including the Grade 3 winner Name Changer ($557k).
Race 56-1-7-8Top choice #6 Capo Kane (9-2) was part of a fast early pace on debut and tired late to be second. His breeding says he should appreciate the added ground… #1 Doctor Doom (5-2) didn’t have the best of trips last time out — his rider was out of one iron leaving the gate, he was hung out wide on the first turn — but still ran well to be third, though it’s worth noting that may not have been the greatest group… #7 Brett’s World (7-2) ran evenly on debut and gets Lasix on today for trainer Butch Reid, who’s 8-for-29 with two-year-old maidens making their second career start… We’ll give a last look to #8 Mischievous Juan (10-1), whose first two aren’t much…
