WEATHER FORCES PIMLICO CANCELLATION
With rain falling and projected to continue to fall throughout the afternoon and into the evening, the Maryland Jockey Club has canceled the remainder of its scheduled eight-race Friday card at Pimlico Race Course.
The track completed two of the scheduled eight races. Parched Ghost, with Jevian Toledo up, won the opener, and Guns Blazing (Angel Cruz) won the second.

It’s the second time during the spring meet that Pimlico has been forced to cancel in the middle of a card. The track also scrapped its April 30 card after three races had been run.
The decision to cancel the card also forces the cancellation of the day’s multi-track Stronach 5 wager.
Pimlico will have a $974,564 carryover of its jackpot pick-6 wager heading into Saturday’s card.
