RACE NUMBER | CONTENDERS | COMMENTS |
Race 9 | 3-5-6-2 | Last time out against similar, #3 Bucks Some (7-2) looked to be fading from the scene around the turn before finding more and rallying. It was a solid effort, and in a race with some speed signed on, might enable him to make a winning move today… If one of those speedy sorts hangs on to get the money, it’ll most likely be #5 Empress Deona. The Scott Lake trainee may be the speed of the speed in here, and if she doesn’t get pressed into submission, she should find the cutback in distance to her liking… #6 Spun d’Etat (5-1) doesn’t enter in particularly good form but has plenty of back class to contend with these… The late-running #2 Lil Tater (8-1) will benefit if the pace heats up… |
Race 10 | 7-3-2-6 | After a winless ’21 campaign, #7 Our Philly Special (7-2) got a nice confidence-builder last out when thrashing state-bred allowance foes at Penn National. This one should be prominent throughout but doesn’t need the early lead to strut his best stuff. The 0-for-11 ledger at Parx does cause some concern, though, and we wouldn’t want to see the odds drop much from here… #3 Irish Honor (9-2) has run a couple of good ones to start the season, finishing second last out to a next-out winner, and getting Carmouche back in the irons is a plus… #2 Brilliant Chase (3-1) ran a good one last out in his first try in the Ness barn; go-to rider Silvera remains aboard… #6 Pategory One (5-1) owns two wins at the seven-furlong trip… |
