Top choice #1 IShallbe Released (4-1) ran a clunker last out when seventh as the favorite against state-bred maidens, but let’s give him a shot to redeem himself. Trainer Jeff Runco gave him a two-month break, and he’s showing three works into this spot; notably, top pilot Bocachica, who also rode Runco’s other horse in here, picks this one… Morning line fave #6 Juju On Da Beat (2-1) ran well enough on debut, rallying into second behind Lucylou Who, who repeated. But that was going 4 1/2 furlongs, and this’ll be this one’s first try around two turns. Note that full sibling Catliketendencies won three times in her career, but never beyond 4 1/2… #3 Moraine (9-2), the other Runco trainee in here, finished fourth last our in her return from a four-month break and can move forward… #7 May Mays Castle (7-2) has run well in her last two but is winless after eight tries…

The main speed in this allowance contest appears to be that of Charitable Spenny, who seems to be up against it in this spot. That might mean the race sets up nicely for #7 Prairie (3-1) to enjoy a perfect stalk-and-pounce trip. A $30,000 claim from the Fair Grounds two back, this Farrior trainee made his local bow with an easy allowance win last out and can make it two straight here… #1 Ishihara (7-2) rallied into second last out going slightly farther, but it’s notable that he’s 0-for-4 at this 6 1/2-furlong trip… #4 Youthinkthatsfunny (5-2) made a middle move last time out, reaching second at the furlong grounds, before fading to fourth. He’s had success at this trip and can be a factor again today… #6 Like Segal (9-2) snapped a seven-race losing streak last out…
