“We’re thrilled to have Off to the Races back on the air,” said Frank Vespe, owner and publisher of The Racing Biz, which presents the program. “We’re looking forward to another season filled with great guests, good banter, and plenty of laughs.”
Saturday’s show features a visit from former jockey Ron Turcotte, elected into the Hall of Fame in 1979. Turcotte is best known for riding the great Secretariat to victory in all three Triple Crown races in 1973. One year prior, he teamed up with another Meadow Stable runner, Riva Ridge, to win the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes.
We’ll also visit with trainer Graham Motion. Motion, winner of the 2011 Kentucky Derby with Animal Kingdom and runner-up in the 2017 Belmont with Irish War Cry, has three runners in Grade 1 contests Saturday at Belmont Park.
Sponsors include the Virginia Thoroughbred Association, Virginia Equine Alliance, Maryland Jockey Club, Charles Town Races, and others.
“We appreciate our sponsors who support Off to the Races,” Vespe said. “And we especially appreciate all of our listeners.”
Each week’s show will be archived on TheRacingBiz.com.
