Dashing Beauty Stakes

Joe ParisiFrank Vespe
1.#7 Street Lute (7-2)#2 Cinnabunny (4-1)
2.#5 Cilla (5-2)#5 Cilla (5-2)
3.#2 Cinnabunny (4-1)#7 Street Lute (7-2)

Fillies and mares will go six furlongs on the main track in this $100,000 contest, and it’s an interesting group of horses that will line up… #7 Street Lute (7-2) is a Delaware lover who hasn’t lost in four tries over the strip and has earned more than $600,000… #2 Cinnabunny (4-1) ran second in the Susquehanna Valley last out, and that’s a solid outing: winner Fille d’Esprit is very fast when she’s on her game, and the show horse, Kaylasaurus, is herself a stakes winner… #5 Cilla (5-2) was beaten favorite last out in the Skipat but is a multiple stakes winner who did not disgrace herself two back in G1 company…

Battery Park Stakes

Joe ParisiFrank Vespe
1.#2 Phat Man (2-1)#8 Gentleman Joe (12-1)
2. #5 Magic Michael (5-1) #5 Magic Michael (5-1)
3.#1 Tax (3-1)#1 Tax (3-1)

Morning line favorite #2 Phat Man (2-1) is the defending champ and certainly has some strong efforts on the page. He enters with a couple of somewhat off-color efforts, but he won’t have to see the likes of Grade 1 winners Mind Control and Hot Rod Charlie as he did in his last… #8 Gentleman Joe (12-1) has run a pair of big ones, and that last at Laurel was terrific… #5 Magic Michael (5-1) is a Grade 3 winner and has compiled three separate three-race win streaks since coming into the Jamie Ness barn. His last, on turf, can be forgiven… #1 Tax (3-1) is a near-millionaire and multiple graded stakes winner. But he’s been away 18 months. Your move…

Grade 3 Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes

Joe ParisiFrank Vespe
1.#6 Stand Tall (4-1)#5 Sister Otoole (8-1)
2.#10 Temple City Terror (3-1)#10 Temple City Terror (3-1)
3.#9 Luck Money (6-1)#9 Luck Money (6-1)

Fillies and mares three and up will go 11 furlongs on (hopefully) the turf… #6 Stand Tall (4-1) was a near-miss second last out in the 12-furlong Keertana at Churchill… #5 Sister Otoole (8-1) has been pointed to this contest for a couple of months, and while perhaps a touch below the best in here might offer some value… Morning line fave #10 Temple City Terror (3-1) was up late to win the Keertana for the second-straight year last out and was third in this event a year ago…#9 Luck Money (6-1) has been sniffing around a graded stakes win for a while. The Delacour trainee made a bit of a middle move in last, with blinkers on, and the trainer peels them off today…

Grade 2 Delaware Handicap

Joe ParisiFrank Vespe
1.#7 Miss Leslie (2-1)#6 Bees and Honey (6-1)
2.#4 Battle Bling (3-1)#4 Battle Bling (3-1)
3.#6 Bees and Honey (6-1)#7 Miss Leslie (2-1)

Fillies and mares three and up will go 1 1/4 miles on the main track in the meet’s featured event… Morning line favorite #7 Miss Leslie (2-1) won the Obeah, the local prep for the DelCap, despite taking a right turn in mid-stretch, and connections think she’ll go as far as she needs… #6 Bees and Honey (6-1) impressed in winning the G3 Comely last fall and makes her third start off the bench today… #4 Battle Bling (3-1) got run down late in the Obeah but has bested Miss Leslie at nine furlongs…
