Nick Hahn will host with support from Frank Vespe. Derby Bill Watson will join each week to provide his handicapping insights and special brand of humor.
“We’re thrilled to have Off to the Races back on the air,” said Frank Vespe, owner and publisher of The Racing Biz, which presents the program. “We’re looking forward to another season filled with great guests, good banter, and plenty of laughs.”
Saturday’s show features visits from jockey Jareth Loveberry and Joe De Francis. Loveberry, riding at Colonial Downs for the first time, won three times on the first three days of the meet to be part of a four-way scramble for the early lead.
De Francis helmed Laurel Park and Pimlico from the time of his father’s passing in 1989 until Magna Entertainment, now the Stronach Group, acquired controlling interest in 2002. The race named for De Francis’ father, the Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash, is set for Saturday. De Francis also is a member of the board of directors of the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority.
Sponsors include the Virginia Thoroughbred Association, Virginia Equine Alliance, Maryland Jockey Club, Charles Town Races, Delaware Park, and others.
“We appreciate our sponsors who support Off to the Races,” Vespe said. “And we especially appreciate all of our listeners.”
Each week’s show will be archived on TheRacingBiz.com.
