Off to the Races Radio: Smith, Russell featured
Off to the Races Radio presented by The Racing Biz returns Saturday, October 1 as its 25th season rolls on.
The one-hour program will air each Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. on ESPN Richmond (106.1 FM) and via livestreaming. It will feature news and conversation about Thoroughbred racing and breeding in Virginia, around the Mid-Atlantic, and across the nation.

Nick Hahn will host with support from Frank Vespe. Derby Bill Watson will join each week to provide his handicapping insights and special brand of humor.

Saturday’s show features Hall of Fame rider Mike Smith and up-and-coming trainer Brittany Russell. From the sulky side comes Debbie Warnick, head of the Virginia Harness Horse Association.
The Hall of Famer Mike Smith has ridden more than 5,600 winners, with purse earnings of more than $342 million. That includes horses like Arrogate, Zenyatta, Songbird, and Justify. Russell has one of the stronger barns at Laurel Park and is a trainer on the rise.
