The Distaff in the last couple of years has belonged to Hello Beautiful. But with that runner retired now, the spotlight will find another filly or mare.
John thinks it’s the mutliple stakes winner — and graded stakes-placed — Fille d’Esprit. The onetime $10,000 claimer has won three stakes this year and placed in five others for trainer John Robb and owners C J I Phoenix Group and No Guts No Glory Farm.
Here’s the skinny on that six-year-old Great Notion mare.
Maryland Million takes place October 22 at Laurel Park with a first post time of 11:30 a.m.
