ANALYSIS
Top choice #5 With Secret Energy (5-1) hasn’t been worse than third in three tries at tonight’s 6 1/2-furlong distance and would appreciate a return to a fast track after a middling try on an off surface. The trainer-jockey combo wins at a 30% clip, and this one had run two good tries versus similar prior to last… #6 Juba Bound (8-5) posted a sharp score in last versus never-two competition. That was a big step up; can he repeat it? The odds figure to be awfully short, and we’re inclined to wait to see if he can do it again before eating this much chalk… #10 Personable (4-1) hasn’t run badly at this level, having finished second and third three straight. But he’ll need to take a step forward tonight to knock it down…
Race 8
4-1-2-5
There are a couple of early speed types in this allowance contest, and that might set it up for a more tactical horse like #4 Hot Fudge Sonde (7-2). He bested state-bred never-four competition in last and should be able to sit a couple of lengths off the early pace. He’ll be sitting the trip if good enough… #10 Debit Card (1-1) thrashed Laurel Park maidens two back but failed to repeat as the favorite here at CT in last. He’ll be up front early, likely pressed or dueling with fellow speedster Noid (15-1), who saw a two-race win streak snapped in last when pressed into defeat. If one survives, it’s likely Debit Card… #2 Run to Daylight (8-1) beat similar in last and shows a sharp work in the interim. Seven-pound bug Justin Lewis has the return mount…
LATEST NEWS
7th.Getting 5 to 1 on Farrior would put
me on his back and I lack faith that “Juba Bound”
will astound again.The”Thewitchisgone”is”Well Equipped”
to take this trip.
8th.I delight in”Run To Daylight”.
I looked hard at”Debit Card”
but will avoid him and “Noid”.
“Spunman”can complete the exacta.
I’m going to swing for the fences in race #2 and take a flyer on #2 Lockdown Vanna. Has a couple 1/2 sibs out of Windsor Castle that could run. And one them won 1st out at 60-1. Hate that its been almost 6 weeks since filly has worked; so not going crazy.
I wish this was on real time,
but I’m glad I didn’t bet a dime
on”Lockdown Vanna”who lost all chance
at the start.
How about #3 Odina in the 4th at a decent price. 2nd start, 1st time blinkers. Her full sister, Unaquoi, improved her beyer 36 points doing this in her 2nd start in 2016. And Odina had a terrible trip and terrible ride in her 1st start. Love the jock change and see her finishing 2nd at 12-1.
4th.No luck, that bump cost her that placing chance.
Quess my picks didn’t make the paper.
7th.”Juba Bound”was not around/but Frank and Farrior
came in,the exacta didn’t pay much, too many are reading Racing Biz.
8th.I did not completely discard”Debit Card”
and did delight in”Run to Daylight”completing the exacta
for $11.80
