In the opener on the first Saturday night card of the new year, #6 Divine Fashion (3-1) won two back over the strip and returns from Laurel Park following a decent effort for trainer Anthony Farrior. #1 Miss Corey (5-2) was solid second two back here and returns after modest performance at Parx for owner-trainer Jonathaniel Badillo and merits respect for mild upset. #2 Codas Honor (9-5) looms the tepid choice in this spot and gives Farrior solid chance to run one-two here. #3 Practically There (8-1) could complete several gimmicks at a generous price for owner-trainer Ernest Haynes.

In this two-turn event for state-bred $15,000 claimers, #2 Thunderinreadyrick (4-1) won two back against similar and exits allowance event for trainer Curtis Bass. #3 Bright Dawn (3-1) returns from Laurel for trainer A. Ferris Allen and seeks to end prolonged drought dating back to Coin Collector Stakes score here just over 30 months ago. #5 Spirit of Windsor (7-2) exits allowance and stakes company for owner-trainer Tim Collins and merits respect in this spot. #1 In Jubalation (6-1) won two back in April and makes first start since September for trainer Larry Curtis.
- Im the Director solid fave in WV FuturityIt’s last call for state-bred 2-year-olds, and Im the Director will look to add a second stakes win to his resume.
RACE 3
1-5-7-6
In this competitive, two-turn maiden special weight event for older runners, #1 Adara (2-1) makes local debut off eight-month layoff for trainer Stacey Viands of Parisian Diva fame and a pair of ‘bullet’ workouts. #5 Per Diem (9-2) was second at the level in only previous local outing and boasts genuine upset chance here for trainer Norm Cash. #7 Taraashoq (5-2) was second in his only local try against similar for trainer Miguel Ramos Agosto and certainly merits respect here. #6 Shannonrun (5-1) makes local debut and gives Agosto outside to run one-two in this intriguing contest.
RACE 4
3-4-7-6
In this interesting, two-turn allowance for older, #3 Jungle Beast (8-5) exits a pair of stakes and looks to kick off the campaign with formful score in this event for trainer Javier Contreras. #4 Santo (10-1) returns following a decent outing at Mountaineer Park for trainer Stacey Viands and has modest upset potential here. #7 Be Onboard (9-5) makes local debut for trainer Mike Jones, Jr. after facing tougher elsewhere and will likely get ample support in this spot. #6 Trikitraki (8-1) tried claimers last out in local debut and vaults back into allowance company for trainer Manolo Mangual.
RACE 5
2-10-4-1
In this two-turn event for $10,000 claimers, #2 Proud Union (9-2) gets second try against claimers for trainer Stacey Viands after three outings in allowance company following maiden special weight diploma and could forge mild surprise here. #10 Freedom Rider (7-5) exits a series of allowance events for trainer Anthony Farrior and could be odds-on in this spot despite outside draw. #4 Stringfella (6-1) also exits several allowance events for trainer Javier Contreras and returns to potentially winnable spot. #1 Dancin in Dubai (8-1) exits allowance event at Mountaineer Park and was solid third in only previous local try.

- “Bittersweet moment” as Hessica hits retirementTwo-time WVBC Cavada winner Hessica couldn’t get one last win, settling for second November 9, but she’s had quite a career for owner-trainer Kristy Petty.
RACE 7
8-6-4-5
In this interesting and competitive, two-turn allowance for state-bred three-year-olds, #8 Juba’s Notion (5-2) won the Vincent Moscarelli Memorial Breeders Classic three back for trainer John A. Casey and ended his freshman campaign with a sharp second-place effort at the level. #6 No Love For Juba (3-1) won the West Virginia Futurity two back and was good third in allowance finale for trainer James W. In this rare, three-turn allowance for older runners, #1 Late in the Game (3-1) gets favorable inside draw for seasonable debut following a solid sophomore campaign for trainer James W. Casey. #4 Yes Sir Robert (4-1) won two back at Laurel Park and makes local debut for trainer Jonathan Maldonado off plenty of good efforts at the bigger ovals. #9 Burgee (7-2) also makes local debut off a prior score at Laurel Park for trainer Anthony Farrior and should make his presence felt despite outside draw. #3 Mark Did It (6-1) was second against claimers last out for trainer Ronney Brown and seeks to post mild surprise here.

3-4-1-2
in the Saturday night finale, a two-turn event for $5,000 claimers, #3 I See The Stars (9-5) arrives off a victory at Penn National for trainer Kimerly Graci and is looking to continue his winning ways to kick off the current season. #4 Sugar Daddy (8-5) looms the tepid choice in this spot for trainer Anthony Farrior while exiting a trio of allowance races. #1 Frankee Merch (6-1) has been third twice in last three tries for trainer Jack Hurley and merits respect here. #2 Internet Of Things (8-1) has yet to hit the board in three tries since returning from Monmouth Park for trainer Crystal Pickett but could complete several gimmicks.

“Siente El Amor”for”In Jubalation”
3rd.I don’t “Adara” Viands but have plenty
of gusto for Agosta tho I will try to Cash with Norm
who is Built Wright”tonight.
1st.Everybody had the first,
Ted had all three.
2nd.”…rick”did his usual quitting trick.
tho Ted had “Bright Dawn”to rise again.
3rd.”Per Diem”paid less than that butit’s
better than tearing up a ticket.
4th.To say the least about:Jungle Beast”he
will feast on this bunch but I gotta hunch, tho I
make no bones Mike Jones is not high on my list
I’ll “Be Onboard”with him tonight.
5th.”Dancing In Dubai”may make a good try and
get Kelton Brown his first crown but”Freedom Rider”
has a “Strong Heart”and should get the big part.
6th.If “Miss Wave”does not misbehave she could swamp
this field but”Secret Castle”will give her a hassle.

but didn’t get any of mine-just too short.
5th.”…Dubai”made a nice try but couldn’t
last for second,”freedom Rider”was a long strider.
6th.Ted had”Jamestown Road”way down,
my “Miss Wave”did cave like hitting the rocks.
This game is hard enough.(my 2 picks last night are proof) But what do you do with Mike Jones horses coming in from Fair Hill? Read article in Paulick Report that Mr. Jones assistant trainer is Ramon Preciado. Really? In last month, Jones “trained” horses have finished in the money at Parx and Aquduct over 50% of the time. (today the connections finished 2nd in the Queens County at Aqueduct at 32-1) I bet over 25K last year at Charles Town. It’s the only track I that I had a small positive ROI. So I hate to do it; but I’m done with Charles Town.
Dear Bill,I made no bones about Mike Jones,
his overall record stinks, even a stopped clock
is right twice a day.I do agree Charlie is tough and
as a longshot player,I seldom cash but when I do
my ROI keeps me in the black.I have made some
of my best scores when I was there.
7th.I’ve no great”Love For Juba”but I
won’t knock”Colt Rock”or”Xcellent Start”
to get the biggest part.
8th.”Yes,Sir Robert”,”Mark Did It”but
“Toe Tappin Luke”could be tonight’s fluke
if”Burgee”stops to pee.
9th.”I See The Stars:,say good night Graci,
but”One More Factor”might be”Frankee Merch”to finally
lurch into the Winners Circle>
I hope we can get Bill back….
8th.”Yes,Sir Robert”,”Toe Tappin Luke”was almost a fluke.
9th.I wish I looked a little deeper,but
could not come up with that creeper.
A happy new year is on the way-see ya
on another day.
