RACE 1: CLAIMING $40,000 (N/W2L), 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 1 MILE

7-5-3-2

#7 Red Wine Time (5-1) may have won each of her last two starts if she changed leads. As it were, she came from out of the clouds and got second in both of those races. With plenty of speed in this one, she should at least get a pace to run into. #5 Flimsy (5-2) drops in for a tag for the first time. She broke her maiden going two turns on grass in July, and even though she’s stretching out from seven furlongs last time, there’s nothing in her lines to suggest she can’t thrive at this distance. Because she’s a Graham Motion trainee, she may get overbet. #3 Vodkatini (3-1) made an early move and flattened out after a battle last out. The winner of that race, She’sarollingstone, won a Maryland-bred/sired allowance race last Friday.

RACE 2: CLAIMING $10,000 (N/W2L), 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 7 FURLONGS

9-5-3-7

#9 Mosler Safe (9-2) dropped to this level for the first time last out, and made late ground while wide to get third. He ran a brisnet figure of 78 that day, his best number in months. It’s an encouraging sign after a series of middling races. #5 Jebster (7-2) has run consistent figures as fo late, with marks between a 71 and a 74 in his last three outings. He’s lightly-raced and has lost against winners just once, an effort against $16,000 foes last Friday where he dueled and tired. #3 Its Over (5-2) cuts back to a sprint after a pair of route tries and looks like the main speed threat.

RACE 3: CLAIMING $12,500, 3-YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES, 1 MILE

2-5-6-7

#2 Cocktail Dreaming (7-5) won at this level three starts back and drops back in after some mild efforts against better. She was a decent third at seven furlongs last out, but this will be her first try going this distance. #5 Pharibe (9-2) is the only one in this field with a win at the distance, having broken her maiden going two turns at Delaware Park in October. She made her first start off the layoff at Parx last out and showed little, but should improve second time off the bench. #6 One Las Olas (12-1) broke her maiden with a good stalking trip two starts back and is one of two in here who has run in the 60s in each of her last two races.

RACE 4: CLAIMING $20,000, 3-YEAR-OLDS, 6 FURLONGS

5-1-4-2

#5 El Tolu (4-1) lasted through a duel to win going away two races back, then chased the pace against better last out and flattened out. His victory was the only time in which he’s shown speed, so ideally he’ll sit near the pace once again. #1 Blame the Bourbon (5-2) was fast out of the gate last out and blew the doors off the field last out. He’s drawn a better post compared to last time, when he left from the outside draw, and will be tough to catch if he breaks like that again. #4 Great Days Ahead (12-1) has some decent late pace figures and could close at a good price if the pace is hot.

RACE 5: MAIDEN CLAIMING $20,000, 4 AND 5-YEAR-OLDS, 5 1/2 FURLONGS

3-9-1-7

#3 Moses Water (9-2) goes first off the claim for Anthony Farrior, who puts his regular rider, Arnaldo Bocachica, in the saddle. Bocachica means business when he comes to ride here from his regular Charles Town base. He and Farrior have teamed up to win three times from six starts at Laurel this year. #9 Bourbon On the Bay (9-2) turned in a solid effort last out going a mile. He dueled for the lead early on and outfinished his dueling partner by 5 1/2 lengths. He ran a much-improved 71 that day in his third start off the layoff. #1 Flavian (4-1) drops in for a tag for the first time for Jose Corrales and should show speed on the rail.

RACE 6: STARTER OPTIONAL CLAIMING $12,500, 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, FILLIES AND MARES, 6 FURLONGS

3-10-2-4

#3 Stay Out (3-1) has lots of early speed in a race where no one else is a confirmed front-runner. She could find herself very lonely on the lead, just like she did in victory two races ago. 10 Meraviglioso (4-1) won two in a row against softer, then ran a big race while wide last out, getting second with a career-best figure of 81. The third-place finisher, Miss Casey, came back to win a conditioned claiming race last Sunday. This one is getting a class test here and has another rough post draw. However, she’s in career-best form and has figures comparable with the best of these. #2 Little Ms Scarlet (8-1) made her first start off a four-month break last out and was forced to check out of contention. Take out those lines, and the line two races back where she fell, and her figures are right there with these. With some improvement second off the layoff and a cleaner trip, she could be dangerous at a price.

RACE 7: STARTER OPTIONAL CLAIMING $20,000, 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 5 1/2 FURLONGS

5-3-1-4

#5 Quick Tempo (1-1) has won three races in a row, two of them at this level, and hasn’t trailed at any point in those races. He should blow this field away if he’s right. #3 Rominski (4-1) usually isn’t on the early pace, but he set the tempo last out and went gate-to-wire to run a career-best figure of 89. In this case, however, he might be better off sitting off Quick Tempo and trying to outkick the rest. #1 Semper Fi (6-1) has shown little in his last few starts against better, but now drops from the n/w2x level in his first start off the claim by Damon Dilodovico. He hasn’t been quite his old self since returning from a long layoff in late September, but he has the back-class to contend in this spot.

RACE 8: ALLOWANCE OPTIONAL CLAIMING (N/W1X), 3-YEAR-OLDS, FILLIES, 5 1/2 FURLONGS

8-2-1-5

#8 Tribal Queen (3-1) broke her maiden going away at Aqueduct last out, but flattened out after showing speed in the Demoiselle Stakes in her most recent start. She’s cutting back in distance big-time and facing an easier field, so she should return to her debut form. #2 Tappin Josie (9-5) crossed the wire first twice in a row on this track, with impressive figures both times, before she stopped badly at low odds in the Gin Talking Stakes last out. Her prior races would contend in this spot, but her last race was more than a bit startling and I would’ve liked to see a workout since then. #1 Divisibility (8-1) improved sharply to break her maiden last out and has speed on the rail for Jamie Ness and Jaime Rodriguez.

RACE 9: CLAIMING $10,000 (N/W2L), 4-YEAR-OLDS AND UP, 7 FURLONGS

1-4-6-5

#1 Tenax (5-2) has been well-beaten in his last few starts against better, but has run figures competitive with this level and should benefit from the class drop. #4 Superstiteux (5-1) has run in the 70s in four of his last five starts with some great late pace figures. The extra distance should benefit his closing kick, as he’s found himself with too much to do going six furlongs as of late. #6 Stronger Than Dex (3-1) races third off the layoff here, and improved sharply last out when he battled for the lead and yielded late. He looks fast enough compared to these to get the early lead by himself if he wants.
