MHBA to host Elkridge-Harford panel
The Elkridge-Harford Point-to-Point Races are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year, and the Maryland Horse Library & Education Center will commemorate the occasion with a panel discussion on the history of the event on Monday, April 24 at 4 pm.
Conducted at Atlanta Hall Farm in Monkton, the Elkridge-Harford Point-to-Point Races have long been considered the preview to Maryland’s Triple Crown of steeplechasing: the My Lady’s Manor, the Grand National, and the Maryland Hunt Cup. This year’s races were held on Saturday, April 8.
Panelists include Maryanna Skowronski, the administrative director of the Manor Conservancy and member of the Elkridge-Harford race committee, Michael Finney, owner of the art and country clothing shop “Yoicks!” and race caller for the Elkridge-Harford races, and Jay Young, president emeritus of the Elkridge-Harford Hunt Club.
Attendance is free. For more information about the panel and other activities at the Maryland Horse Library, visit marylandhorse.com, call (410) 252-2100, or email [email protected].
