ANALYSIS
Useful return to action for #9 I’m the Money Man (7-2). Though he was the beaten favorite, he was a lukewarm favorite and ran like he needed the race. Still, he stuck with it willingly and is eligible to improve today… Blinkers on did the trick last time out for #5 Gatto Be Proud (5-1), who’s a half to last year’s top WV-bred three-year-old, Free Sailin. That was a good effort, too, as he was challenged much of the way up the backstretch and then had to hold off a rival late. He won’t likely be on the lead tonight, but that doesn’t seem to be necessary for him, and with just two races under his belt, he’s got plenty of upside… #1 Grumpy’s Buddy (3-1) was a decent third against similar last out, though never a threat to the winner… #10 I’lltakecareofit (4-1) certainly took care of it on debut, winning off by six lengths. He projects to be in front early and will try to carry that zip around two turns for the first time….
Race 7
10-1-8-6
Top choice #10 Shewearsstilettos (5-1) didn’t seem to have much use for being buried down on the rail in her debut, so the move to the outer post looks to be a plus. She ran willingly nevertheless, after some initial greenness and despite drifting well out towards the outer rail under left-handed urging in the lane. For all that, she was beaten just two lengths while third. Improvement expected today… #1 Cowgirl Attitude (4-1) makes her career bow and has easily outworked her stablemate in her last two breezes, it appears. She is a first foal, so no sibs to give us a clue… Trainer Ollie Figgins is quietly compiling a very good season and will send out morning line fave #8 Livana (9-5). She’s a horse he seems to have been high on all along, as she made her second career start, though still a maiden, in a stake at Colonial. This will be her first start since since September… #6 Phantom Queen (9-2) gacked up a big lead in last but held second. Unless a first-timer flashes speed, she may well be in front early once again…
