Race 1 – Grade I A.P. Smithwick Memorial Handicap

1. #7 Gordon’s Jet (8-1) – Won two back off a layoff, and gets another chance to take down Welshman after narrowly losing last time around

2. #8 Welshman (9-2) – Has been particularly sharp over the last year, recently winning a grade II where he took the field all the way around

3. #1 Freddy Flintshire (3-1) – Since switching to the fences, this gelding by Flintshire has never finished worse than third, with some good efforts and a win here last year

4. #6 West Newton (8-1) – A winner of two straight, this gelding may end up being the best value of the field as he continues to step up in class

Race 8 – OC 80000b

1. #6 Favor (6-1) – Comes off over a half year layoff, but has run her best when positioned near the lead and gets Luis Saez back in the irons who should have this filly close early

2. #4 Sixtythreecaliber (8-5) – Probably wants to go further than eight furlongs, but has good class and is consistently in the mix so should be competitive here

3. #5 Movie Moxy (7-2) – Jose Ortiz and Linda Rice have been off to a torrid start together this meet, and have a good chance with this mare by Street Sense who is strong at this distance

4. #2 Gerrymander (3-1) – This Klaravich filly seems just a tad better than Nostalgic and broke her maiden here two years ago, plus could have the lead even if she may prefer shorter

Race 9 – Alw 149500n1x

1. #8 Fleetfooted (5-1) – This filly has won both times off the bench and gets a third here for Castellano and Sharp who have a near fifty percent clip together in fourteen tries the past year

2. #3 Cadencia (3-1) – Will likely be stalking Fleetfooted and Gun Boat, and this is one that should enjoy the shorter distance and might get the perfect set up here

3. #4 Anne Karenine (5-2) – Five and a half is probably the right distance for this Brown trainee who has the talent to be a threat among this group

4. #5 Gun Boat (9-2) – Has some good early speed even if she ends up fading in most stretch runs, and should at least have a chance to hold in the money with the right break

Race 10 – New York Stallion Series Stakes

1. #9 Orange Freeze (6-1) – Should be better value coming out of a maiden claimer, but has been improving and may be one to take advantage of tiring fillies with Joel Rosario in the irons

2. #1 Red Moon (2-1) – Made a nice move coming from dead last to finish third by two and three quarters last time, and gets another furlong to run into here

3. #3 Mz Big Bucks (5-2) – Got an ideal trip last time out facing a few of these, but now adds a furlong with a few more viable challengers than her last race

4. #6 Little Linzee (5-1) – This gray filly could benefit by sitting off of Mz Big Bucks with solid upset chances if the pace is slow as she has plenty of experience in similar company
