Today’s carryovers: None
Race #1 Picks: 4-1-5-6
In this $6250 claiming race at 1 1/16 miles, #4 Father Glado (3-2) is facing a very weak field today, He is coming from Monmouth and dropping in class. This gelding has been struggling but may have an advantage over this field. #1 Sidney’s Bid (7-2) just missed at this level in last race and fits well here. He’s always in the mix but has trouble winning. He should be in the mix again today. #5 Spectrier (4-1) beat a couple of today’s foes in their last race. He fits well with this group and is one to consider.
Race #2 Picks: 2-5-8-9
In this $12,500 claiming race at 5 ½ furlongs, #2 Fox Red (8-1) has been flashing speed and tiring at Parx recently. He was racing against better and doing well early in the year. We think he has a class advantage today and we have him on top. #5 Speargun (7-2) was competitive with $20,000 claimers in last try. Now dropping to a level where he has a good shot to win. #8 Never Satisfied (5-1) has been in good form in Florida and will be a contender here based on recent speed figures.
Race #3 Picks: 3-7-2-1
In this $38,500 first-level allowance for three-year-olds, #3 Assume Nothing (4-1) is improving with ascending speed figures. We think he is prepared to have a big race and we have him on top today. #7 Eldest Son (9-5) has looked good in recent Maryland efforts. He will be laying just off the pace and waiting to make a late move. #2 Goodafternoonoscar (5-1) ran just behind Eldest Son in last and fits well with this group. He will be in contention late again.

Race #4 Picks: 4-5-7-6
In this $5000 claiming race for fillies and mares at one mile, #4 Miss Loyalty (10-1) was competitive against better earlier in the year at Parx. Now dropping to bottom level claimers and if can race like he did in the spring he should beat this field. #5 Nurse Rachett (5-1) ran well at this distance with this jockey two back. We think she will get the lead this time be in the mix late. #7 Daily Briefing (5-2) is a closer that has not been able to get up for the win lately. She will be moving late again and should get a piece of the action.
Race #5 Picks: 1-8-4-9
In this $25,000 maiden race for fillies and mares at about five furlongs on the turf, #1 Best Worst Idea (6-1) will be making his turf debut and has run some decent sprints on the dirt. He is not facing strong competition today, and if he takes to the grass, he might surprise. #8 Divine Promise (3-1) was claimed in last and did show some speed. He will be in the mix today if he matches that effort. #4 Savannah’s Sugar (12-1) could not handle maiden company in her debut. After trying the grass she is moving down to maiden claiming on the dirt. She may show improvement.
Joe’s Notes
- Jockeys Carol Cedeno and Alexander Crispin won two apiece Friday…
- Trainer Michael Gorham got a maiden-breaking score from Reckless Kelly, continuing a productive meet for the trainer, who is in third in the standings with 12 wins…
Race #6 Picks: 3-6-7-4
In this second-level allowance/optional claiming race at one mile, #3 Dreaming of Gerry (9-2) has had some good races at Parx. He likes to come from behind so he will need some pace to run at. There should be pace in this race, and we have him on top. #6 Fast Breakin Cash (5-2) is a speed burner that has won three-straight. He has one race at Delaware without success. He’s the one they will be chasing. #7 Tune In (7-2) ran well last time with an 87-speed figure. That was his first race at Delaware and if he likes this surface, he could repeat that effort.
Race #7 Picks: 1-4-9-11
In this $38,500 first level allowance race for fillies and mares at about five furlongs on the turf, #1 Mainline (9-2) ran well in turf sprints in Texas. She will be making her first start for Brittany Russell, who wins at 32% in 94 attempts when taking over training duties. #4 All About Me (6-1) has been showing speed but fading in routes. Now back to sprinting where she did well on the dirt last year. The cutback in distance could help her. #9 Systemic Risk (5-1) had some good turf sprints last year and fits well here. Jockey Angel Castillo has four races at Delaware this meet with one win, two places, and a show.
Race #8 Picks: 8-4-7-9
In this $6250 N2L claiming race for fillies and mares at one mile, #8 Catalena (4-1) ran fairly well at this level last time. Trainer Andrew Simoff is doing well at Delaware with three wins and four second place finishes in thirteen starts. We think this filly will run well today. #4 Purrfect Dani (10-1) won a maiden race easily here. She isn’t facing any monsters today, and a repeat of that race will put her in the mix. #7 Grand Spun (9-5) is taking a large class drop and could be in the mix,
