Charles Town has canceled its January 17 card as a result of the “lingering effects of Monday’s winter weather event,” the track said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Charles Town is not alone in the Mid-Atlantic, either. Parx Racing previously had announced it was canceling its afternoon card.

The cancellations mark Charles Town’s second of 2024 and Parx’s third. Charles Town had previously canceled its January 6 card, also for weather-related reasons. Parx canceled all three of its cards this week because of the winter storm.

Live racing is expected to resume on Thursday, January 18 at Charles Town at its standard first race post time of 7:00 P.M. ET. The next scheduled day of live racing at Parx is January 22.
