Replay: Saturday’s Off to the Races Radio

Off to the Races Radio, powered by The Racing Biz returned April 13 at 10:00 a.m. The one-hour radio show, which is presented by the Virginia Equine Alliance, returns for its 26th season.

The program combines tips and advice on betting horse racing, news from the sport, and interviews and conversations with major racing newsmakers.

On April 13 hosts Nick Hahn and Frank Vespe welcomed in Alan Foreman, Byron King, Sonny Via, Kali Francois, Darrell Wood and more. Foreman discussed the new legislation outlining the future of Maryland racing, while King discussed the Triple Crown and Kentucky Derby. Via owned the Hall of Fame steeplechaser Good Night Shirt, soon to be honored at the Foxfield Races, while Francois handicapped Saturday’s races at Laurel. Wood joined the show to discuss all things Virginia, including the kickoff of the Shenandoah Downs season.

The program focuses on Thoroughbred racing and breeding in Virginia, around the Mid-Atlantic, and across the country and will air each Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern on ESPN Richmond (106.1 FM) and via livestreaming. The show airs simultaneously on ESPN Harrisonburg (106.9 FM and 1360 AM). And during the summer race meet at Colonial Downs, the program will expand to two hours.

The show will run through November 2.
