Other trainers in the top tier for wins above expectations include Mario Serey (3.13), Graham Motion (2.96), Bonnie Lucas (2.58), and Michael Gorham (2.30)…

Twenty-nine trainers have made more than five starts at the meet, and 11 of those have won more often than their odds would have predicted…

De Paz has pulled in 39% of available purse money in his eight Laurel starts at the meet, which is easily the highest percentage of any trainer. He’s followed by Gorham (27.6%), Magee (23.4%), John Robb (22.2%), and Ness (20.9%)…

Four of the 22 riders to make 10 or more starts in the last three weeks have gone winless during that period. Those were Johan Rosado, Yomar Ortiz, Jean Briceno, and Andres Chavez…
