In this video shot before the Preakness, our team caught up with trainer D. Wayne Lukas to discuss Seize the Grey, Just Steel, and what it’s like to have 2,000 owners on one horse.

Little did we know at the time that Seize the Grey would go on to upset the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes! Little did we know – but it sure seems like Lukas liked his horse a little bit.

In the event, Seize the Grey went quickly to the front in Saturday’s big race and was never headed en route to winning by a couple of lengths. It gave Lukas his seventh Preakness victory, second-most of all time behind Bob Baffert, who has eight.
