Delaware Park picks and analysis: June 7, 2024
Picks and analysis for this evening’s card from Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races:
- DATE: June 7, 2024
- RACES ON CARD: 8
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:30 p.m.
RACE 1
3. Court Contender | Lightly raced sort lands in good spot after knocking down two-life condition at a higher price level; makes third start off the bench |
6. Afraidofthebunny | Form’s a bit in-and-out but top trainer Ness has gotten a pair of good ones out of this 4yo in first two of the season |
2. Master of None | Frequent bridesmaid should appreciate a track that may have some moisture in it |
RACE 2
1. Disco Ball | Voided claim in last and barn switch normally would give pause, but new trainer protects this one here, a positive sign; if the speedster can repeat any of his last three, he probably wins |
6. Captain Quint | Stoked up a strong rally to win Md-bred allowance three back going seven-eighths; if the pace heats up – and it very well could – this one will be running late |
3. Run Poppy | Tough beat in last when leading a long way before getting run down late in first try of the season; should be a forward factor and drawn outside the other main speed (#1) |
RACE 3
6. Fixed Odds | Speedy sort has won on dirt and on off tracks |
10. Delta Charm | Should compete with these and outside draw could aid the cause if rider Centeno wants to eyeball other speed |
3. Miss M M | Will be first time sprinting on dirt |

RACE 4
5. Jackman | Caught an awfully rough crew in last; could be the speed |
3. Holy Synchronicity | Should be running at the end |
4. The Distractor | Has run two strong ones in a row, one leading, one off the pace; may go off shorter than morning line |
RACE 5
6. Tio Tony | Most recent dirt try last September probably wins here; seems to have maintained form on synthetic |
7. Bottomless Refill | Makes third start off the bench |
1. Return Fire | Has had his moments |
Racing Notes
- Alva Starr reached millionaire status by winning the Rehoboth Wednesday…
- Distorted d’Oro won a one-mile maiden event on the turf by a nose in over Toy Collector in a battle of super-well-bred fillies making their debuts…
RACE 6
4. Petingas Twin | Perhaps a bit overmatched in G3 at PImlico, but prior form plenty good enough despite catching some tough rivals; show horse two back won an allowance next out; trainer’s go-to rider at CT in for the mount a good sign |
5. Muazarah | Shortening up looks like a good move; gelded since last |
6. Squints | Strong effort in last when running hard every step to just miss |
RACE 7
11. Argentina Girl | Frequent bridesmaid may appreciate off-the-turf rivals |
1. Oscar Gaze | Don’t sleep on MTO runners |
9. Brown Suga Babe | Has been gradually improving |
RACE 8
10. New Jersey Heist | Makes second start of the season; has efforts that would win here |
2. Infinite Series | Made a bit of a middle move in last in first try at this level but going two turns; cutback to 6f a plus |
3. Taji Mike | Trainer Phil Capuano 5-for-15 when dropping horses by 50% or more |
