- DATE: June 15, 2024
- RACES ON CARD: 8
- CARRYOVERS: None
- POST TIME: 12:30 p.m.
RACE 1
5. Unxpected Tiger | Draw a line through last as he was tangled up in the gate and lost all chance; still ran on to beat a couple and figures with these at potentially an enticing price |
4. Stavros | Perfect setup in two-back romp; made middle move before tiring in last |
6. Marcus Junius | Has been second four straight and six of seven |
RACE 2
6. Great Quality | Dam Hailey’s Flip was a minor stakes winner and only sib is 2-for-2 to start career; some zippy works over the strip, and Capuano barn en fuego to start meet |
3. Just for the Money | Barbados gelding gets longtime local stalwart Cedeno in the irons |
2. Lou’s Birthday | Father-son showdown as Phil Capuano-trained runner firing morning bullets tangles with Gary Cap-trained top choice |
RACE 3 – ON THE TURF
8. Glossamer | Doesn’t win often, so you’ll need to get fair odds; huge effort in last at 48-1 versus better, and a repeat would put her right there today |
4. Corinna | Trainer Michael Matz wins at a 17% clip off long breaks; kept mostly better company |
6. Louise Brooks | Makes third start off the bench |

RACE 4
7. Pudd’n N Pie | Perfect trip to win two back when lurking just off the speed and might get a reprise of that today |
6. Remember Me | Speedy sort emptied out late in most recent dirt try, but best efforts contend; sophomore’s three wins among the most in here |
2. Duela Dent | Gets blinkers on and lands in right spot to seek second win |
RACE 5 – ON THE TURF
2. Transcendental | Won nicely in last to graduate when dropped into appropriate spot; makes third start off the bench |
7. Halon | Has kept better company; shifts into Hendriks barn |
9. Country Charlie | Where’d that come from? Huge effort in last at 107-1 when setting fast fractions, staying on |
Racing Notes
- Gabriel Maldonado doubled up, the only rider with more than one win…
- Style to Follow moved up from the maiden claiming ranks to upset the day’s featured maiden special weight race. Off at 11-1 under Maldonado, he inched away late to win by a length for trainer Juan Arriagada…
RACE 6
4. Borracho | With the scratch of #2, this one ought to head straight to the front and should be tough to reel in; has won two straight and owns five wins at the trip |
3. Group Hug | Late-running sort was up late to win a first allowance in last |
5. Baltasar | Galloped versus lesser last time out |
RACE 7
5. The Judge and Jury | Inclined to forgive last; has won at this level last two tries and should get a good pace to run at |
3. Take Charge Too | Speedster is one of two Magee trainees here with similar running styles; should be cooking on the front end |
7. On the Mark | Makes first start of the campaign |
RACE 8
6. McMagic | Should be in good position to take advantage when Duke of Dooly falters |
2. Duke of Dooly | Look for this one to control the pace; sealing the deal has been the issue, though he stayed on better in last |
3. Couperin | If he runs well on main track, he’s a major player here, but 7-5 is awfully short for his first time |
