Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Delaware Park:

RACE 1

2. Lady Aethelflaed	Gets good trip; making short work of conditions
4. La Tache	Big outing in latest when shifted to the main track but presence of other speed here complicates matters
3. Looking for Water	Lead horses didn’t come back to the closers at all in last; they probably will today

RACE 2

5. Bad Hombre	Fewer starts than the other main contenders — a positive in a two-life race
4. Duke of Dooly	Has run decently against similar, including in latest
2. Bad Henry	Jumped up and just missed last out; a repeat needed for this one to be in the mix again

RACE 3

1. Miti Fast Flower	Drops to bottom off acceptable tries at PEN; last-place finisher from two-back effort bested favorite here in next
5. Lucky Honey	Drops to bottom in search of easier group
6. Wicked Kitten	Best figs here but hard to endorse favoritism on 19-race maiden

RACE 4 – ON THE TURF

3. Hendrickson	First claim in over two years for trainer Ned Allard and attracts leading rider JRod; beaten fave in two straight but may offer better value today
6. Sabi	Graduated in latest, holding off Rum Tum Tugger who then defeated #1
1. Financial District	Has gotten very fast paces to close into in two of last three turf tries; doubting that he gets that setup again here
4. Big Big Star	Blinkers on, and this one could control it from the front; the concern is two recent off-color outings

RACE 5

1. Sonadora Girl	Decent try versus better in latest; runner-up came back to win an allowance with an 82 Beyer fig next out
5. Bold Baby	Good middle move in useful return to action before emptying out late; not asked for best in lane
4. Snow Lake	Runner-up four straight versus better and worse; willing finish in last after encountering a bit of trouble entering the turn

RACING NOTES

Jockey Jaime Rodriguez owned the Wednesday card, winning five times, including the $125,000 Obeah Stakes aboard Evidencias ($13.20), giving that runner her first North American victory…
Three of the wins delivered by Rodriguez were for trainer Jamie Ness. Rodriguez and Ness are now firmly in control of the leading rider/trainer races; Rodriguez has 70 wins, while nearest pursuer Gabriel Maldonao has 47; and Ness’s 47 wins are more than double the 20 recorded to date by closest pursuer Gary Capuano…

RACE 6 – ON THE TURF

1. Belle of the South	Look for this one in front early and possibly sealing the deal this time; has caught some tough rivals
6. G W’s Girl	Solid work tab for a Munnings filly whose female family has some win-early to it
4. Heylookmeover	Robertson barn clicks at 23% with 2yo debut runners in special weight company; Maclean’s Music a good win-early sire, and one of this one’s three sibs won at first asking
2. Nohai	Finally gets on turf after two prior tries, including disastrous trip in latest; a cleaner trip aids the cause

RACE 7

5. Malibu Beauty	Too much class
4. Late Frost	Bullring lover ran big in latest to win and has run well locally; like to see her string good efforts together before taking likely short odds
3. Just Great	Showed plenty of early talent but hasn’t gone on; perhaps switch into Magee barn will help

RACE 8

6. Boh’s N O’s	Good try versus slightly better in latest; trainer Sullivan 20% second off the claim
1. Ziffy Bug	Dominated two-life company and wheels back on short rest; has won two straight sprints
2. Nami	Has finished in the triple three straight following two near-misses behind repeater La Macchina Rossa
