RACE 4
7. Ferrari Kid | Main-track-only entrant chased to no avail in latest; makes second start off the bench |
1. Hard Spun Fantasy | Stuck with it versus better |
11. Finger Roll | Winner last out makes first start in Deiter barn |
RACE 5
7. Suitefourfourthree | Compton barn having a solid meet and this one arrives at debut with a bullet work |
9. Lucky Flay | Showed a bit of speed in debut but was no match for Caprice, who’s been the dominant local 2yo filly; works since first outing seem improved |

RACING NOTES
- Jockey John Hiraldo had quite the late double. First, he and Super Constitution rallied late to prevail by a neck for trainer Pedro Nazario in race seven; Super Constitution paid $25.40 to win. Then he outdid himself, rallying on the Charlie DeMario-trained Kelly’s Party Girl to win by three parts of a length, returning relatively few backers $84.40. The double returned $441.30 for a buck, and the big prices triggered a carryover in the late Pick 5…
- Trainer Elisha Perez, who won Friday with Souper Royal Moon ($15.40), has sent out eight runners at the meet, with seven of them, including three winners, finishing in the money…
RACE 6
8. Speightful Sis | In good form |
2. Sister Supream | Galloped in latest versus similar |
1. Band Sweetheart | Will be running late |
RACE 7
3. Great Quality | Trainer Capuano has a pair in here but suspect the other one’s just using it to tuneup for mile stake in two weeks; this one should sit just off it after galloping in debut |
7. Chipotle | Speedy sort had a tough outing last out in stakes company, but connex liked him enough to ship him out to Canterbury for it; likely to show speed |
4. Williams Empire | Only two-time winner in the group |
RACE 8
3. Mat Matters | Should be controlling speed on stretch to two turns; offspring of sire Barbados win at a 26% clip in limited opportunities going two turns |
8. Darvesh | Formful sort drops to logical spot; record suggests sprinting more his game, but barn having a strong meet |
4. Amani’s Tiger | Always right in the mix |
