Picks and analysis for this afternoon’s card from Delaware Park:

RACE 1

2. So Emotional	Appears to have been working in company with recent debut winner G W’s Girl; only sib is a five-time winner, and this Hard Spun filly comes from a barn that can win first out
6. Heylookmeover	Breeding suggests this one’ll be more at home on the main track after middling turf try
3. Power Driver	Khozan is 15% with his offspring making first starts; strong season for Allard barn

RACE 2

2. Spectrier	With speed signed on this one might sit the trip; hasn’t been quite as sharp last couple since the claim, but a return to best could get it done
7. Sagrada Ray	Likely fave arrives off a good-looking score against better, but connex have been steadily devaluing him for three months
1. Mastermind	Could be speediest of several with early foot; return to best could make him tough to reel in

RACE 3

4. Return Fire	Won at this level several races back but subsequently DQed from purse money; since, he was throttled twice by better and had two decent tries on the dirt; best wins here, though this may be an inch farther than he wants
3. Elfuegomasbrilante	Veteran maiden usually runs well at this sort of level; last a bit of a disappointment when well positioned off fast pace but unable to kick on
6. Miztergrandcentral	Lightly raced sort showed improved speed in latest
10. Oxford Union	Return to spring form would do the trick

1. Kitty of War	Solid debut when second to a class-dropper making second start; the only horse to run back graduated next out
4. Mandy’s Miss	Rowayton filly is a half to a couple of debut winners, and sire’s early offspring have run reasonably well to date
2. Sandi Sue	Showed good speed in bow but was pressed into submission; in a shorter field might have an easier path to the front

RACE 5

3. Dorothy’s Dreams	Three-time allowance winner at Finger Lakes could get a good setup if inside and outside runners hook up
1. Bubbling Up	Well-bred sort galloped to graduate in latest and has the look of a horse that could make short work of her conditions; bred to go a route of ground, but how low will you go odds-wise to support in first try doing so?
7. Joya Del Sur	Dispensed of pace rival last out versus better but had no answers for runaway winner

RACING NOTES

Jockey John Hiraldo and trainer Juan Arriagada teamed up to win the first and seventh races on the Wednesday card. They took the first, a never-won-two claimer, with Bailamos ($6.80) and the seventh, the second-level allowance feature, with Take Charge Chloe ($7.80)…
Tweet Away Robin ($5.80) made it four straight with a win in a starter allowance, cruising home 4 1/4 lengths clear in the six-furlong affair. The seven-year-old has four wins at the meet, tying her with Intrepid’s Legacy and Doin’ittherightway for the most at the meet. Trained by Pedro Nazario, she has 15 wins in 60 career outings…

RACE 6

1. There Are No Words	Draw a line through latest when bumped from both sides at the gate and outfooted behind 13-time winner Smithwick’s Spice at too-short distance; prior tries in stakes company very good
9. Gray’s Fable	No answers in latest over yielding ground, but prior victory saw two beaten rivals go to Saratoga to win in allowance and stakes company
8. Highestdistinction	Graded stakes winner’s 2024 races haven’t been great but can make amends in third off the bench
3. No One to Blame	Curious spot for a horse eligible for two-other-than company; has faced tough ones in two Kentucky starts; season bow here

RACE 7

5. Skinny Joey	Solid debut and may good get trip in here
4. English Daddy	Good speed in latest but may hook up with #3 in early running
2. Guilted	Had legit excuses when encountering trouble in bow
