RACE 1

5. Bad Hombre (7-2)
Hasn’t been the best at routes, but carries a strong jockey trainer combo this meet and has run well over this track
6. Sidney’s Bid (3-1)
Almost never a winner, even if he has been finishing well this year with plenty of experience
1. Grand Bey (10-1)
Drops back down to lower claimers, and may enjoy this distance with his late running style
4. Diamond Messa (9-2)
Lowers further down in class and hopes for Duke of Dooly to set an honest pace to close into

RACE 2

2. Rose Gold Candy (7-5)
Passed tiring runners late in her recent effort, but has to break more cleanly to be a winner
4. Seven’s Magic (7-2)
Clear improvement dropping down into maiden claimers, now getting another try at this level
1. Dina’s Touch (8-5)
Moved forward late in her debut, still needing to show improvement to have any chance here

RACE 3

5. Prom Knight (5-1)
Has been inconsistent through eight starts, but has winning chances with a sharp break
8. Chat Blanc (4-1)
Returns to a dry track and drops to a lower level claimer but needs pace to aim at
9. Grand Rozzo (9-2)
Seems to be improving by Vino Rosso with strong performances over this track and distance
10. Cooler King (8-1)
Favorite in his last three; needs to break well from a tough post to be a factor

RACE 4 ON THE TURF

6. Brindi (3-1)
Back to back tries at Saratoga for Clement this summer against better competition should lead to a win here
2. Ready to Rocknroll (6-1)
Back to her preferred surface for this Delacour trainee who has been bet to favorite in both starts
5. Summer Election (8-1)
Motion has eleven wins in thirty-six starts this meet so he is tough to ignore with this first timer
9. Ok by Me (20-1)
Her try two back gives her a chance and certainly worth a play if the price lines up with the morning line number

DIRT PICKS: 2-8-11

RACE 5

2. Artistic Reason (8-1)
Good value and strong record in the money for this gelding by Munnings who has become a top sire in the country
4. Doin’ittherightway (7-2)
A winner in nearly a third of his starts, this gelding should be in the mix with his speed figures
8. King of Hollywood (5-2)
Good early speed and runs his best at Delaware with a good record at the distance
1. Jayjaydee (15-1)
Heavily raced seven year old still has ability at this level, and may improve on the class drop

RACE 6 ON THE TURF

7. Princess Javoncia (3-1)
The classiest of the bunch but would benefit from pace pressure on Paper Mansion which may not be there
2. Paper Mansion (8-5)
Likely favorite given her record on turf and early speed, but not as classy as Princess Javoncia
10. Filtered Light (20-1)
Drops from a stakes try with better efforts over turf than dirt; distance suits her well
1. Inanna’s Quest (5-1)
In the money in nearly half of her turf tries, but may be a step below the top two contenders

DIRT PICKS: 5-12-2

RACE 7 White Clay Creek Stakes

3. Caprice (3-2)
Wins here with a top effort having a clear advantage with three wins over this track
2. Beautiful Blome (8-1)
Pace may be lacking for this closer by Blofeld who will adjust to the added distance
7. Synergism (9-2)
Filly by Frosted switches back to dirt and could have the tactical speed to best this field at eight furlongs
8. Piggy Tales Up (7-2)
May prefer sprint distances by Mitole, but should be better value than the morning line suggests

RACE 8Rocky Run Stakes

2. Tony Eclipse (9-2)
Edges this field as the only one who has proven himself at eight furlongs, but may need to rate
10. It’s Hammertime (2-1)
This colt by Vekoma has been the most dominant through two starts, and wins if he adjusts to the added distance
4. Baby Dukes (7-2)
Should be on the lead with Carmouche, and has back class running in the Grade III Sanford this summer
8. Shootersgottashoot (10-1)
Distant place in a stakes last time out, but should be fine with the extra distance

RACE 9

1. Rolly (8-5)
Improving gelding has hit the board in four straight with a speed advantage on this group
4. Double Nickel (7-5)
Has run well over this track in two straight; compares well with this field from a speed figure perspective
7. I Wanna Rock (8-1)
Maryland bred runner has plenty of experience and should be in the mix at a number even if he doesn’t win
