RACE 1
4. Trechmo Girl (5-1) | May be reaching for more distance, but consistently closes after slow starts and should be in the mix late |
3. Heirozan (9-5) | Continues to drop in class, but hasn’t been competitive against better so maybe gets a boost in this company |
2. Passing Bayou (3-1) | Improved since the surface change; still needs another step to win against a stronger field |
RACE 2
4. Laguardia (10-1) | Ran on a distant fourth in her debut, now facing a weaker field with a chance for improvement |
2. Sandi Sue (4-1) | Takes blinkers off to stay off the lead after fading late in her first two tries |
6. Selectively Sweet (6-1) | Hasn’t been remotely close in her four tries, but ran against better company which may be enough for a stronger finish |
RACE 3
9. Bangkok Bob (5-2) | Significant drop in class leaves this colt as the top contender |
2. Millibar (9-2) | Took a step forward with a more aggressive trip last time and comes off a recent bullet work over this track |
3. Just for the Money (10-1) | Another class dropper who gets back to an ideal race and has some recent speed figures that may be good enough |
8. Let’s Have a Party (6-1) | May have benefited from a slower pace last time but still showed some early speed |

RACE 4 – ON THE TURF
6. Go Take Charge (8-1) | Deep closer has fared well at Delaware, but may need more pace to aim at than is in here |
1. Sabi (7-2) | Connections are strong with this runner who has improved with the surface change and drop in class |
11. Rum Tum Tugger (15-1) | Gelding by Into Mischief has been successful since switching to turf, now facing better but live at a good price |
8. Midnight Award (10-1) | Slight edge over He’s Fancy Free due to better class and recent performances on this surface |
DIRT PICKS: 4-9-1
RACE 5
9. Drink This Cup (5-1) | Stidham and Cedeno have been too strong to pass up as they enter with this filly by Stay Thirsty in her first try |
7. Hysterics (3-1) | Graham Motion two year old has trained well compared to this group and he has been winning at a 30% clip for the meet |
8. Borderline (4-1) | Delacour trainee debuts with Centeno who he has a good record with over the past year |
4. Grand Empress (10-1) | Has the experience edge over GeeGee’s Story and gets back to dirt here |
RACE 6 – ON THE TURF
5. Stella Mars (8-1) | Classiest of the bunch who is past her racing prime but still should be a win contender with the drop in competition |
6. Beastie Girl (15-1) | Good recent performances with a win at Delaware and a late running style that should have her in the mix late |
3. Avatal Hero (6-1) | Her last race at a mile on turf showed some promise and a bit more upside than others in here |
11. Boardwalk Fries (5-2) | Hasn’t been her best recently, but dropping back down to claiming should lead to a return to form |
DIRT PICKS: 7-10-1
RACE 7
6. Hot Fudge Warrior (5-2) | Not only enough speed to be near the lead early, but gets a bump with the class drop from two stakes tries |
1. Brzina (8-5) | The most consistent runner of this bunch who has fared well in this class and distance |
3. Winkiwinki (8-1) | Coolcalm Collected is dangerous if she gets to the lead, but this mare may be better value and should be aggressive |
RACE 8
11. Downpatrick (4-1) | Back to back place finishes show this gelding turning a corner and ready to break through with a win |
10. Sunshine Johnny (9-2) | Grey gelding has finished better in three straight races, with a solid jockey trainer combo here |
2. Long Astride (5-1) | Finally cutting back to six furlongs after fading in multiple stretch runs at route distances |
7. Joel’s Boy (15-1) | An unlikely winner, but frequent races mean this gelding is in good form and should be in the mix |
