Juba’s Parade won the biggest race of the weekend at Charles Town Races, marching to a one-and-a-half length victory in the $75,000 My Sister Pearl Stakes on Saturday evening.
Juba’s Parade enjoyed a good ground-saving trip under jockey Wilfredo Santiago to get the win. As a result, she avenged her second-place finish in the West Virginia Breeders Classic Distaff last month, defeating that race’s winner, Change the World, along with Cavada runner-up Hessica.
Juba’s Parade, a filly by Juba, was bred in West Virginia by Taylor Mountain Farm and is owned and trained by Kristy Petty. The win was her first stakes victory and gave her seven wins overall to go with purse earnings of $228,000.

It wasn’t easy, despite going off at 1-to-9, but Catch the Humor eventually inched away from Dorado to win an allowance race November 7th. The win was Catch the Humor’s third in a row.
Last month Catch the Humor had scored a 7-1 upset in the West Virginia Russell Road Breeders Classic, running to a 10-length victory. This time, facing older winners for the first time, he had to work for it. But under jockey Reshawn Latchman, he took control with a furlong to go and went on to the victory.
Catch the Humor was bred by the late John McKee and is trained by Cynthia McKee for her own Beau Ridge Farm. He has three wins from four starts.

You won’t see many better rallies than the one mounted by Lantern’s Candy in a November 8th starter allowance.
She was more than 10 lengths behind after four furlongs and still stuck in seventh-place with an eighth of a mile to go. But under jockey Victor Rodriguez, who celebrated enthusiastically, the five-year-old Unified mare picked her way through traffic and emerged between rivals late to win by a length.
Lantern’s Candy is trained by Kevin Joy for himself and Gus Pesaturo. She has won four of 10 starts this year and is 6-for-28 in her career.
