VIDEO: Latest Charles Town Races highlights

The highlights from the weekend of Charles Town racing that concluded Nov. 16 include:

Teachintherelease made the front early and never came back to the field en route to a win in Saturday’s My Sister Pearl Stakes for West Virginia-bred fillies and mares.

Breaking from the outside with Orlando Bocachica in the irons, Teachintherelease was able to grab the lead when Pay Me In Gold ceded the front, and from there, the outcome was never in doubt as Teachintherelease won by 1 and ¼ lengths over Muad’dib.

Teachintherelease is trained by Stephen Murdock for Robert Cole and now has 10 wins, including two stakes, from 27 starts.

With his second-place finish, Muad’dib became the newest West Virginia-bred to top one million dollars in earnings.

Two-year-old Moonlit Notion started his career in style Friday night, winning a state-bred maiden contest by over four lengths under jockey Larry Reynolds.

By Great Notion, Moonlit Notion is out of 2017 Cavada winner Moonlit Song and is a full-brother to another solid local runner, Moonlit Kiss.

Moonlit Notion is a homebred for trainer Tim Grams and his wife Judy.
