We catch up on the latest jockey and trainer statistics from Charles Town Races. Who’s hot (and not)?

Arnaldo Bocachica continues to widen his advantage in the jockey standings while winning at a 31% clip, while Ronney Brown retains the top spot among trainers.

JOCKEY TOP 10 WINS

Angel Cruz won four times during the just-completed racing week to jump past several riders into sixth with 12 wins…Arnaldo Bocachica stretched his lead to 11 wins by winning four times, including a three-bagger Friday. Making it more impressive: he didn’t ride locally Saturday, instead going up to Aqueduct to pilot Coastal Mission to third in the Stymie Stakes… Five riders have made at least 10 starts without a win…

JOCKEY TOP 10 PERCENTAGE OF PURSE EARNED

Carlos Lopez, who won once locally during the week, retains the lead in percent of purse earned, with Bocachica and Angel Cruz his nearest pursuers… Keimar Trotman won for the second time at the meet, both aboard Mudslide, most recently in a sharp allowance score…

JOCKEY TOP 10 BY ADDED WINS

Maximo Chilo is making good use of his opportunities and has 3.02 added wins above what his odds would have predicted to lead the colony… All three Bocachicas are among the top six… The full range of added wins is nearly nine, from 3.02 to (-5.90)

TRAINERS TOP 10 BY WINS

Jeff Runco won with four of 10 starters during the week to move into a clear third but still well behind the top pair of Ronney Brown and Anthony Farrior… Twelve trainers have at least five wins, while 27 have at least seven starts and no wins… Brown and Michael Jones, Jr. are the only two trainers with more than 100 starts to date…

TRAINERS TOP 10 BY PERCENTAGE OF PURSE EARNED

The top trainers by percentage of purse earned are largely those with relatively few starts and high win percentages, topped by Kieron Magee, who’s won with five of eight starters at the meet… Stephen Murdock entered the week just 1-for-7 but won with two of four starters and also had a third to move up a spot in this metric… At the other end of the spectrum are 19 trainers currently pulling in less than 5% of available purse money…

TRAINER TOP 10 BY ADDED WINS

Trainer Jeff Runco’s productive week has him moving up all the charts, including to the top in added wins, calculated by comparing his actual wins to what the odds of his runners would have predicted… The only new name on the list this week versus last is Carlos Mancilla, who won once with three starters and has 1.71 added wins… The range for all trainers is 4.73 to (-3.96)…
