We catch up on the latest jockey and trainer statistics from Charles Town Races. Who’s hot (and not)?

Arnaldo Bocachica continues to widen his advantage in the jockey standings and is now scoring at a 32% clip, while Ronney Brown retains the top spot among trainers with Anthony Farrior narrowing the gap this past week.

JOCKEY TOP 10 WINS

Arnaldo Bocachica went 4-for-9 during the week to widen his lead to 13 wins, and four of the five mounts on which he didn’t win finished third, making it eight in-the-money finishes in nine starts… Victor Rodriguez won with three of eight during the week to climb into the top 10 by wins and is the only newcomer… Five riders have made 10 or more starts at the meet and remain winless…

JOCKEY TOP 10 PERCENTAGE OF PURSE EARNED

Carlos Lopez, the longtime leader in this category, went 0-for-2 locally last week, and Bocachica, with the big week described above, is right on his heels… The composition of the top 10 is identical to last week, though the order has shifted in some spots… Marshall Mendez won twice during the week to move just ahead of Keimar Trotman, while Larry Reynolds won with his only two mounts to move from 10th to sixth…

JOCKEY TOP 10 BY ADDED WINS

With his four-win week, Arnaldo Bocachica leapfrogged from sixth to first in added wins (comparing his actual wins to what his odds would have predicted), while Victor Rodriguez moved from eighth to second… Maximo Chilo, first a week ago, drops to third with a still-healthy 3.22 addd wins… Gustavo Larrosa went 2-for-6 during the week and poked his head into the top 10 with 1.37 added wins… The full range of added wins is from 3.90 to (-6.47)…

TRAINERS TOP 10 BY WINS

Anthony Farrior won with four of nine starters (and was third with three others) to inch closer to leader Ronney Brown, who went 2-for-12 and retains a narrow lead… Tim Grams was 2-for-2 during the week… 31 trainers have made seven or more starts at the meet without a win…

TRAINERS TOP 10 BY PERCENTAGE OF PURSE EARNED

Every trainer in the top 10 by percentage of purse earned but one has made 20 or fewer starts; that one is Anthony Farrior, who has made 99 starts, third most of any trainer on the grounds, and is pulling in nearly 22% of available purse money… Tim Kreiser is 4-for-7 at the meet and leads in this category… At the other end of the spectrum are 21 trainers currently pulling in less than 5% of available purse money…

TRAINER TOP 10 BY ADDED WINS

Trainer Jeff Runco’s productive week has him moving up all the charts, including to the top in added wins, calculated by comparing his actual wins to what the odds of his runners would have predicted… Tim Kreiser, Kristy Gazzier, and Joan Reynolds, who was 2-for-2 during the week, are newcomers to the top 10… The range for all trainers is 5.77 to (-3.91)…
