Bernardini filly takes MHBA Yearling Show

A filly by Bernardini was named Grand Champion at the 86th annual Maryland Horse Breeders Association Yearling Show Saturday in Timonium.

Jockey Rosario Montanez, injured in a bad spill Friday at Laurel Park, underwent successful surgery Saturday.

Mr. d’Angelo, 17-1 upset winner of last fall’s Maryland Million Turf, will make his first start since then in an allowance Saturday at Laurel Park.

Off to the Races Radio returns July 18 with a show featuring Alicia Hughes of the NTRA, plus handicapping with Derby Bill and more.

The Colonial Downs meet,wich kicks off July 27, will feature Virginia-bred and Virginia-sired runners for its opening dates.
